Furnace Park is now cleared and ready for projects to begin. Over the coming months, it will host projects, residencies and exhibitions by artists including Sarah Staton, Simon Bill and David McLeavy.
We would like to invite proposals for talks, events, screenings, exhibitions, performances and other forms of curated site-specific interventions on site.
The site covers about an acre and a half and is split into two levels – one concreted over, with an external screening space; the other – the upper half – an urban wildspace with a (huge) screening wall.
Moveable billboards are available, as is seating, storage (shipping container) and plenty of space. We are also building a stage. The site will be open March – November each year, with November – March as ‘down time’ for creative reflection, writing and publishing about Furnace Park and the projects which take place there.
While we can’t offer any funding for projects, we offer a free space, project support and extensive networks and expertise. We can also help with funding bids if appropriate.
We actively encourage proposals that are collaborative and cross-disciplinary.
To submit an expression of interest, please send no more than 2 pages of A4 with the following information:
– Name and contact details of organiser(s)
– Description of project
– Proposed dates and duration of project
– Description of how you will use the site
– Details of funding obtained and planned funding applications (where appropriate)
– Images where appropriate
You are also invited, where appropriate, to submit a short CV as an appendix to your proposal.
Please email this information to Amanda Crawley Jackson – email@example.com
If you would like to visit the site before you submit your proposal, please contact Amanda.
You will receive a response within 2 weeks. If your expression of interest is accepted, you will be invited to present your proposal more formally.
There is no deadline – expressions of interest are sought on a rolling basis.
