We’re pleased to announce that Furnace Park has been selected as an associate pilot of the SEEDS project, the aim of which
is to promote the re-use of vacant sites by working transnationally to implement innovative spatial planning policy instruments, and by stimulating regeneration and sustainability across the North Sea Region to create thriving locations in which to live, work and invest.
Funded by the European Union and the Interreg IVB North Sea Region Programme, the SEEDS project will
promote the temporary re-use of vacant land and buildings as an important and legitimate part of longer-term planning and development, and as a tool for stimulating regeneration and sustainability at local, national and European levels.
Other SEEDS pilots include the The Dudzeelse Polder in Zeebrugge, The Boiler Building in Copenhagen, the University of the Neighbourhood in Hamburg and the River City Playground in Gothenburg.
