Update from our friends at Woodbank Crescent Community Garden (an involuntary park)

Screen Shot 2014-02-19 at 17.54.43

Re-use of abandoned derelict land in suburban Sheffield as an informal park.

Steeply sloped site (~900 m2) providing various ecological habitats, cliff face, woodland glade etc.

Bamboos, geraniums, grasses, species roses, ferns, woodlanders, rare plants, spring bulbs.

Ownerlessness, litter, antisocial behavior, rubble, weeds, self seeded trees, crumbling infrastructure, zero funding, sustainability issues.

Founded in 1999 with lottery money. Open to the public at all times.

Between Woodbank Crescent and Chesterfield Road, S8 9EE.
